Parallax cut its incident count in half during the busiest season.

−54%
incidents in peak season
40M
viewers on the busiest night
90 s
median rollback
2
releases during the final

The challenge

Live events meant code freezes. Anything that did go out during a match needed a manual rollback that took forty minutes to run.

The approach

Parallax put release markers on every player metric and wrote rollback rules for buffering, start time and errors, so a bad change dialled itself back in seconds.

The result

Incidents during the busiest season halved, the freeze was lifted, and the team shipped twice during the most watched night of the year.

“The final had forty million viewers. We shipped twice during the match and nobody noticed.”
